Course Overview
Immerse yourself into a highly experiential, practical leadership training experience that will result in:
  • A deeper, more balanced, and intentional Christ-centered life
  • Sharpened leadership skills and habits that you can implement today--and that will serve you for a lifetime
  • The start of a written, working management plan that will help move your youth ministry forward
  • Ownership of tools and skills that spur volunteer involvement and will broaden and deepen your youth ministry
Why Participate in the Joshua Leadership Institute?

Your time is valuable--we know you can't afford to waste it (or your money!) at continuing education events that don't result in real change.  The great news is that this is not just a course in "knowing"--it's a course in "being" and "doing."  Your ministry overflows from your faith, character, habits, priorities, and the way you relate with people.  If you're ready to strengthen your leadership qualities from the inside out, and if you want to reach a new level of excellence in youth ministry, this is the course for you.

  • It's spiritually recharging: The Joshua Leadership Institute will minister to you as you experience rich Christian community with other leaders.

  • It's hands-on: Weekly sessions will include time for interactive training, small groups, worship, Bible study, time for practice and personal application, and accountability.  This is NOT your typical lecture-based seminar...it's REAL training!

  • It's real life ministry: Between sessions, you will return to your church setting to put what you have learned into practice.

  • It's learning for growth: Upon returning to the Institute, you will receive coaching, accountability, continued training, and affirmation to continue sharpening your skills.

  • It's transferable to others: Part of your training includes the skill of training and equipping your leaders.
"Tentmakers training, in my opinion, was more like a practicum, with more hands-on work and discussion than lecture. Even the lectures had a time of application, so class members were able to process what they were learning. As a result of what God has put on my heart, and the ministry training I have been exposed to, I will always be in ministrywhether its paid or volunteer. I am a different person because of what I learned through Tentmakers."
    -Jen Anderson, Youth Minister

  • Managing time more effectively
  • Solving problems through creative thinking (getting beyond "we've never done it that way before")

"Being called by God to work with youth has been my passion for many years of my life. The training I have received here has put meat on the bones of my passion. I have always felt empowered by God to do youth ministry, but because of a lack of training, I never felt fully equipped to do the job effectively. The training has allowed me to feel confident about the call God has on my life. There was not an area of training presented that did not teach me something that I could implement. Everything was great. The entire experience stretched me and allowed me to see that I can do more and be better at what I do to make an impact on the youth that God puts in my path."
    -Candia Quiroga, Youth Minister

"I believe that Tentmakers Training is a spiritual workout in which we increase our strength to do the tasks in which Christ empowers us. Before training, I had a great wealth of ideas but no confidence to put the ideas into action. Because of training, I am now a 'fisher of men.
